About Us

Sun Water Coolers have been providing water coolers and hot water boilers for over 15 years. Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, we are ideally situated to provide a ‘local feel’ service to customers throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties of Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Berkshire.

Our Water Coolers are suitable for most environments, typically offices, schools, colleges, canteens, gyms, hairdressers, beauty salons, waiting rooms, warehouses, small and large businesses.

The bottled water we supply with our water coolers is Blenheim Palace Natural Mineral Water, which is sourced and bottled in Oxfordshire. Blenheim Palace Natural Mineral Water is drawn from an aquifer deep beneath the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace, home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.

The water is available in 18.9 litre and 13.0 litre bottles which are of a standard design to fit all Bottled Water Coolers.

The water is sourced, bottled, and delivered direct to your door.

What is Natural Mineral Water?

Natural Mineral Water must come from an identified and protected source. It is guaranteed to be consistent in composition and naturally wholesome without any treatment – except in some cases the addition of carbon dioxide to make the water sparkle. Natural Mineral Water status is only granted to waters that are demonstrated to be free from pollution and have a characteristic stable composition.

To monitor the stability, quality and mineral content of the water, an external Laboratory carry’s out regular tests in line with the legislation set out within The Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Drinking Water Regulations.

Water cooler bottles

Water coolers are a sustainable drinks choice for businesses and homes. As well as providing instant chilled water, which is good for everyone’s health and wellbeing, on average each water cooler bottle can be re-used between 40 to 50 times before having to be recycled, thus helping to reduce the carbon footprint of this product.

What are water cooler bottles made of?

Most, if not all, water cooler bottles are polycarbonate, but newer versions may be made up of PET to improve durability and clarity. Although less versatile than most forms of plastic, polycarbonate can be recycled into a wide variety of products.

Polycarbonate tends to be the material of choice for water cooler bottles because of its high strength and durability – they need to withstand the weight of 18.9 litres of water and the high temperatures used during the wash process.

Any material used for packaging water must be food grade which means it has to be tested for and safe for food/water use to ensure no harmful chemicals will migrate into the food/water during storage.

Recycling water cooler bottles

Although polycarbonate bottles are fully recyclable, the material loses a lot of strength during the process so only a small percentage can be used in manufacturing new bottles. However, there are several other uses for recycled polycarbonate:

  • Headlamp lenses
  • Dashboards
  • Electronic component housing
  • Mobile phones
  • CD’s and DVD’s
  • Traffic lights
